Important Chanel Gripoix Clip-on Earrings. These stunning earrings date back from the 1950s. They feature blue gripoix emulating turquoise and intricate work on gilt metal. Chanel signed. Part of the Chanel costume jewellery line, they were made by Maison Gripoix. This specific technique of creating jewellery using poured glass was invented by Augustine Gripoix in 1869 (it is still a secret). Chanel herself collaborated extensively with Maison Gripoix to create beautiful pieces of jewellery, with rich colours and that reflected the change in the role played by women in society. Vintage Chanel Gripoix jewellery is highly coveted and collected. These earrings are rare, collectors’ pieces.
