Vintage Hermes Collier de Chian Black / Medor Leather Belt. This gorgeous belt by Hermes dates back from 1986. One of the most iconic designs by Hermes, if not the most iconic, the Collier de Chien, often referred to as CDC or Medor, was first designed in the early 20th Century as a ‘dog collar’ for a special client’s bulldog. The design was incredibly popular, so Hermes started producing it as a belt in 1927 and as a bracelet in the 1940’s. In black calfskin leather and gold-plated hardware, it is Hermes signed on the inside of the hardware and now very faintly stamped on the belt (P in a circle, M, 67 and Hermes Paris Made in France). The condition is excellent. Being a fashion statement and a snippet of fashion history, this belt will invigorate any look.
